 Sunday Sunday saw the conclusion of the NSDA Primm Valley Resorts Fall Nationals as well as the 2008 NSDA Point Series season. Dennis Rieck ended up as a double down winner in the "Hammer Down" dragster taking home the Top Fuel title over Pete Schenk. Dan Allen debuted his brand new Lucas Oil car and proceeded to take home Sunday's Top Alcohol class victory. Tim Martin was a three time winner on the weekend in the Top Eliminator class; winning both of the weekend's events and clinching the Top Eliminator point series championship. Some of the winners on the day were Don Boespflug (Pro Mod and Sportsman 1), Steve Foster Jr. (Pro Index), Dean Becker (Sportsman 2), TJ Marchant (MS1), and Rudy Kurtz III (MS2). The entry total for the weekend has topped the 500 mark with last count nearing 510 with more entries for Sunday’s races likely to still be purchased. Dennis Rieck recorded the quickest pass in sand drag racing history with an amazing 2.225 ET. Rieck was unable to back up the record in the night session, but he still has the rest of the weekend to make a back up pass. Scott Whipple, on the other hand, did back up his Thursday 2.318 with a 2.338 to regain the Top Fuel ET record for the time being. In the first round of eliminations, Dan got out of shape and had to lift still managing Low E.T. of the round by a tenth of a second. In the semi-final round, Dan’s car was rolling through the beams putting him very deeply staged and still ran a 2.503 with a 1.03 60’ time. This pass was easily a mid 2.4 on a normal pass. - Gary Mink kept his championship hopes alive advancing to the final round versus - The second round match up between Gary Mink and Dan Allen was a great battle with both cars in the low 2.5 range.
