Presented By:     Sunday The final day of racing at the 2009 NSDA Dan Chittenden Fall Nationals in Primm, NV came to a record breaking conclusion on Sunday. Scott Whipple set a new Top Fuel World Record in a final round victory with an astounding ET of 2.239. Scott’s win also clinched the 2009 NSDA Top Fuel championship. Dan Allen repeated his 2008 NSDA Fall Nationals victory taking this year’s class title. Dan had a single run in the final when Gary Mink was unable to return after being involved in a two-car crash at the top end with Nick Januik. Fortunately, both Gary & Nick emerged okay. Paul Taylor worked his way through the tough Top Eliminator class field for the victory over Jim Rossi in the final round. Also of note was Charlie Johnson doubling up by winning both the Pro 2 & Pro 3 categories on the day. Scott Whipple ran Low ET of the day with a 2.321 in Top Fuel and hung on to take the #1 qualifying spot heading into race day. Gary Mink also held on to his day one top qualifying position in the Top Alcohol class. Round one of Top Eliminator saw all three championship contenders advance to round two. Winners in other competition on the day were Clayton Record (Pro Mod), Steve Foster Jr. (Pro Index), Todd Kolstad (Sportsman 1), Al McKinney (Sportsman 2), Garrett Ratliff (Motorcycle Sportsman 1), and Joey Weaver (Motorcycle Sportsman 2). Top Fuel qualifying saw Scott Whipple run a 2.307 @ 165.54 to take the low qualifying position into day two of qualifying. Gary Mink is once again on top of the Top Alcohol class with a great 2.492. The points leaders in the Top Eliminator class pace the field as leader Tiffany Januik sits #1 with a 2.970 with second in points Billy Morris sitting #2 in qualifying with a 3.007. The big winner of the night was Chris Hickey taking the Pro Bonus class victory over Gary Gebert. Randy Kluehn defeated Donna Huff for the Sportsman Bonus race victory.
