Day one is finished at Avenal’s November Sand
Drags. Chachy Zavala and his Avenal crew put the cars down the track in an efficient
manner and are putting on a great show this weekend. Saturday’s big winners
were Steve Foster Jr. (Pro Index), Jerry Watson (Sport 1), Nick Young (Sport

AVI
Fast Track Racing’s AVI West Coast Nationals is complete. Bob Childress
(Pro 1) and Tommy Zavala (Pro 2) were the race’s big winners. Tommy took the
win in Pro 2 over Phil Soper in the final round. Phil went on and won the Sportsman car class by defeating Jesse Weston in the final round. The Fugowie Funny Car made
some exhibition passes and ran a best of 2.99. Rebecca Barlow ran a best of 3.050
@ 120mph with a new blower motor in her dragster. Thanks to Tommy Zavala for the update from this event.
