T-Zone Promotions Lemoore Raceway is preparing for Race 2 of their 2018 Sand Drag series in Lemoore, California on May 4-5. Friday night will be the same format as Race 1 with Sportsman classes as well as Heads-Up Car & ATV categories. New for this race will be Saturday racing with Juniors, Pro Gambler & Pro Bracket classes as well as Top Eliminator (2.95 Index) and the popular 3.95 Index category. NSDN Daily Race Coverage - Avenal April '18

Sunday Race Day was filled with incredible action all day long as the winners were crowned at the 2018 Avenal Sand Drags Spring Nationals in Avenal, CA. The Top Alcohol category featured the quickest cars on the property at this event, and some of the closest racing. In the final round, it would be Jake Morton pulling off a hole shot win recording a 2.48 to defeat Jim Hammond’s Low ET of the weekend 2.43. The Top Eliminator 2.95 Index class saw much of the same with incredibly close races all day long. Vickie Hall would score her second TE win of the season with an incredible performance recording 8 runs between 2.953-2.998 over the course of the event. In the Pro Bracket classes, Tommy Zavala was the huge story as he scored a double-up victory on Sunday defeating Kenny Hayes in the Pro 1 final before edging out Chris Helmuth to take the Pro 2 victory. Another great story on Sunday was Justin Adamson loaning his “Raped Ape” Jeep to his dad Chris to stay in points contention after the “Bounty Hunter” Jeep broke on Friday. Chris showed how solid of a racer he is as he put the borrowed ride in the Pro 3 Winner’s Circle defeating Jimmy Depasse in the final round. Taylor Marchant made it back-to-back Final Rounds in the Motorcycle Pro 1 class, but this time he emerged victorious defeating Blake Maness in the final round. The Motorcycle Pro 2 final saw Caleb Mings take home top honors on his 3-wheeler defeating Marcus Riedel. Junior class winners on Sunday were Hayden Brayntor (Juniors), Cruz Liston (Junior Dragster) and Sky Chaffin (Youth). **Run Sheets are now posted.**

The Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, CA played host to the 2018 SCSDA March Madness event. The late March weather was unseasonably cool for Southern California with high temps around 60 creating excellent horsepower weather and leading to some incredibly quick ET’s and high MPH’s. This also served as Race 2 of 5 in the 2018 California Sand Drag Challenge series. The points race is starting to take shape as the series heads to Avenal for Race 3 in April. Let’s go through the rundown of top performers from this event.

The Avenal Sand Drags Spring Nationals is coming up April 20-22 in Avenal, California. This year’s event is shaping up to be another great one. T-Zone Promotions Lemoore Raceway is preparing for the first of four races in their 2018 schedule at the facility located in Lemoore, California. Race 1 will take place on Friday night, April 6 with Racer Registration opening at 3PM followed by on-track action at 3:30PM & Opening Ceremonies at 7PM. These events will host Sportsman-tree bracket classes for Cars & ATVs as well as Top Eliminator and Exhibition action. Marc & Anne-Marie Whitmore have joined the Lemoore Raceway crew to put forth a professionally run event on a well-prepped track. The 2018 SCSDA March Madness wrapped up on Sunday at the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto to a full day of tremendous on track action. Marcus Norris put the Pat Norris Racing/Worldwide Insurance Specialists Dragster in the Top Fuel Winner’s Circle with a 2.26/161MPH lap. Gary Mink proved he’s still Bad to the Bone as he scored the Top Alcohol victory with three excellent laps in eliminations of 2.43, 2.44 and 2.44. Jeff Liston put another small block in the win column in Top Eliminator on the 2018 season as he defeated Terry Crawford in the final round. Mario Tavares got the job done in Fast Fours as he defeated Daniel King in the final round. Derek Balcunas soloed to the Pro Mod Unlimited win. Pro Bracket class winners from Sunday were: Craig Durning (Pro 1), Jack Bone (Pro 2), Rob Plumb (Pro 3), Brad Olson (Motorcycle Pro 1) and Marcus Riedel (Motorcycle Pro 2). Junior competitors hit the track Sunday morning for some fierce competition and the winners were: Christian Myers (Junior Dragster), Blaine Denunzio (Junior Dragster Mini’s) and James Villa (Peewees). SCSDA Soboba Feb '18 Race Recap

The Southern California Sand Drag Association (SCSDA) kicked off their 2018 season in late February at the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, CA. Unseasonably cool temps greeted racers and fans alike, making for great horsepower weather. The increased horsepower, plus the addition of several truckloads of clay into the track surface led to one of the quickest & fastest weekends of 300’ sand drag racing we have seen in some time. Keep in mind this was Race 1 of the 5 race California Sand Drag Challenge points series, consisting of the three SCSDA events and two at Avenal Sand Drags. This is going to be a fun series to follow all season and several racers got off to a fast start.

LVJC Dumont 2018 Race Recap

On President’s Day Weekend, the Dumont Dunes was the place to be for not only dune action but also the Las Vegas Jeep Club Sand Drags & Hill Climbs. The tradition continued with another full weekend of great action. Tech/Sign-In took place on Friday with the Hill Climbs on Saturday & 300’ Sand Drags on Sunday. The LVJC crew put in long hours and did a phenomenal job all weekend long. Let’s look at all the great on-track action.
